The methodology used in the preparation of the catalog has been critical comparison of different macroseismic existing catalogs that contain information of earthquakes in the region, with the inclusion of studies of historical seismicity for earthquakes especially relating to periods prior to the twentieth century. For recent earthquakes specific studies are taken into account and also detailed macroseismic information (punctual intensities ) and in some cases instrumental information
