SISMOCAT is an app for smartphones and tablets that keeps you up-to-date about the earthquakes occurred in Catalonia and around the world.

This app, developed by the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya, is available free of charge for iOS and Android terminals.

Through this app, the Seismologic Survey of Catalonia automatically informs in real-time about earthquakes occurred in Catalonia and neighbouring areas. In addition, the Euromediterranean Seismological Center provides, even automatically and in real-time, locations and features of most significant earthquakes around the world, thanks to the contribution of existing seismic networks.

First version of this app includes:

• List of the last earthquakes and their main source parameters.

• Geolocation and distance to the epicenters.

• Map representing the location of the epicenters.

• Selections by regions and magnitudes.

• Optional reception of notifications (“push”) of the last earthquakes.
